Aburrido de por vida - José M. Nieves

Okay, while I like digital art, it always bores me to tears whenever I try to do one pic. I'm just too damn slow with all this "looking at the screen while drawing with a tablet on my lap while repeatedly switching tools in a monotonous cycle" thing I have to put up with. I even have a lot of WIPs that I never finished due to getting bored doing the flats, colors, lineart, whatever (a lot of those are on my blogger, btw - go there if you want to see some of the stuff I've been trying to work on). So basically, I almost ended up quitting drawing in general just because it was boring me.
However, while I was buying stuff for my new home, I went to a Borders Outlet and got me a new hardcover sketchbook (I love those). I tried sketching some stuff, and the next thing I know, I have to force myself away from it 'cause it's already midnight and I still haven't done the homework from the next day 'cause I spent too much time drawing. I wanted to post my best one, but I realized I don't have a place set up for my scanner yet and even if I had I would only be able to scan it in all it's glory if I rip it off from my brand-new sketchbook.
Ouch.
Worst part is, the quality of the paper in that thing is so good, I don't want to go back to my usual 11x14 rough-textured paper, let alone my tablet, so I doubt I'll be able to post anything soon...well, except for a crappy webcam screenshot of a page from my sketchbook (coming later today).

Hey, guys, I'm back with a new computer and a new apartment! I'll submit more stuff once I finish setting up this thing.
That is all.

This Thursday I'll be moving to a new apartment with no internet, so until I make the arrangements for some cable, don't expect me to show up for a while.
However, before I leave, I want to make good use of my current Xbox Live subscription, so I'm challenging anyone interested to a few friendly rounds of BlazBlue. You guys have until Wednesday to play me.
My gamertag? RequiemOfHearts
Oh, and if you haven't bought BlazBlue, buy it. Great story (for a fighting game), awesome soundtrack, characters just as crazy as those of Guilty Gear (though sadly, no Bridget this time), and the online component is the smoothest one I've ever tried. Seriously, there's almost zero lag. Capcom could learn a thing or two from these guys. Limited edition comes with a soundtrack and a DVD with strategy videos on each character, so I recommend that one.
I'll be waiting.

Okay, so lately I've been playing freeware games on the 'net, and one thing I realized is that a lot of 'em are just as good as most console games, if not better. Because of that, I decided to mention my favorite ones right here:
1. Cave Story
A freeware game that plays like Metroid or Castlevania, but with a much better story (at least in my opinion). Really long, really addicting. If you wanna know how it plays, go to my Youtube channel - I have a few videos of me playing some of the hidden leves.
Download the game here: http://www.miraigamer.net/cavestory/downloads_1.php (don't forget to download the translation patch unless you already know Japanese)
2. Chzo Mythos (series)
A point-and-click adventure/horror series made by Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw (the guy from Zero Punctuation). Don't let the retro graphics fool you - this game does a good job of scaring people. The story's good, too.
The games in the series are (in this exact order):
-- 5 Days a Stranger - http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/5days/
-- 7 Days a Skeptic - http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/7days/
-- Trilby's Notes - http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/notes/
-- 6 Days a Sacrifice - http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/6days/
BONUS -- Trilby: The Art of Theft (prequel to the series) - http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/games/yahtzee/artoftheft
3. Iji
A 2D action game with RPG elements, it tells the story of a girl who wakes up to find herself in the middle of an alien invasion. Challenging game with multiple endings depending on whether you kill everyone or actually take a pacifist route and go without shooting anyone - and for once, that last option's a valid strategy (make it to the end boss with zero kills and you get a stronger weapon to fight him with).
Download it here: http://www.remar.se/daniel/iji.php
4. the white chamber
Another point-and-click horror game that plays like an adventure game, but feels like Silent Hill. It tells the story of a woman who wakes up with amnesia on an abandoned space station. Genuinely terrifying (at least on the first playthrough), but the true genius comes from the twist ending. I'm not spoiling anything, but...oh my god.
Play it. Play it now. http://www.studiotrophis.com/site/projects/thewhitechamber
Know any other good free games on the 'net? Comment away.
Games that didn't make the list 'cause I'm too lazy to write about 'em at the moment:
